Highlights

Top birding site in Europe

Extensive bird checklist, up to 100 species

Lots of photo opportunities

Local expert as guide

Itinerary adapted to your requirements

Overview

The best places to watch birds in Doñana are in the surroundings of the National Park. We get to the northern Doñana area by driving past farms, paddy fields and marshlands in the delta of the river Guadalquivir. There is a long way to Valverde’s Bird Centre by unpaved roads but it is worth it, especially in the wet season. Then we go to the “Dehesa de Abajo” near the rice fields where several species of waterfowl can be spotted, including Marbled and White-headed Ducks.

Northern Doñana is a paradise for birders and we have designed the best guided tour possible to get an extensive bird list and we have the possibility to focus on special species.

Ethics

At Terra Incognita we support tours that do good in the world. They must help conserve the environment, support local people and provide educational opportunities for guests and staff, or be actively working to improve in these areas.

Do you provide any additional conservation, community or educational benefits through your wider operations that you’d like to mention?

The team of guides of Wild Doñana is formed by young people who are passionate about nature and carry out conservation projects as bird ringers/banders.

We also participate actively in many local initiatives and conservation works as volunteers.

Certificates

We are registered as Outdoor and Ecotourism operators by the Tourism Department of the Andalusian Government.

We belong to several business and guides organisations that work for the improvement of the local economy from a sustainable point of view:

  • Association of ecotourist companies of Doñana National Park.
  • Federation of Outdoor and Ecotourism companies of Andalucia.
  • Association of guides of Doñana National Park
  • Andalucia Wildlife Guides
