Overview

Our most popular tour picks up in your hotel around 5:15 am to arrive at Mundo Aventura Natural Park By 5:30 am, and ends around 9:30 am, after a delicious light breakfast of fresh fruit, juice, and coffee. The circuit trail combines tree plantations, a gallery forest alongside on of the important rivers of the area, a regenerating forest with open grasslands and pastures, and small brooks which permit the observation of typical open area birds, in addition to aquatic and wooded area birds.

Among the most common birds found here, we have: Great Kiskadees (Pitangus Sulphuratus), Tropical Kingbird Flycatchers (Capsiempis Flaveola), Montezuma Orioles (Psarocolius Montezuma), Variable Seedeater (Sporophila Americana), Tropical Tyrants (Tyrannus Melancholicus), Red-billed Pigeons(Patagioenas Flavirostris), and Groove-billed Anis. In addition, you can observe less common resident species like the Iron Architect which gets its name from the impressive twig platform it creates for a nest.

The Laughing Falcon (Herpetotheres Cachinnans) is a good-sized hawk whose presence is an indicator of a healthy environment, this because their diet depends on snakes, which in turn feed on frogs, rodents, lizards, birds and other snakes. In the park, it is also possible to see Black-Cheeked Woodpecker(Melanerpes Pucherani) and Purple Trogons (Trogon Violaceus). Among the aquatic habit birds which are the most difficult to observe, we may be graced with the presence of Uniform Crakes (Amaurolimnas Concolor) and White-throated Fledgling. (Laterallus Albigularis).

If you prefer a more technical tour with different types of birds, choose between any of our other options of semi-private tours, with a specialized guide for each area. Among these alternatives, you can choose between bird watching at Lake Arenal, the Arenal Hanging Bridges, Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, Ecocentro Danaus, El Silencio Reserve, Juan Castro Blanco Cloud Forest Reserve, Children’s Eternal Rainforest, and more. If there is a specific bird you are finding, let us know to recommend the best observation spots.
