Ethics

At Terra Incognita we support tours that do good in the world. They must help conserve the environment, support local people and provide educational opportunities for guests and staff, or be actively working to improve in these areas.

What conservation activities do you support through the tour, and your wider operations?

We would also like to go further and make this experience beneficial for local ONGs like AMUS who have been helping wildlife recovery, thanks to its hospital and rescue centre for wildlife. That is why 5% of the cost of each client on this expedition will be donated to this rescue centre located in Extremadura.

How does the tour support local people?

With this photographic trip, we aim to support local companies dedicated to nature tourism that have been supporting this development model for several years, accommodation, restaurants, hides companies, etc … by employing their services.

All these companies have joined forces in the Birding in Extremadura organisation, where the government of Extremadura has identified companies of a high standard, and Nature Photo Tours is part of this group.

What type of environmental education activities do you incorporate into your tour?

During our expeditions, the Nature Photo Tours company becomes an outdoor photography school.
We teach our photographers in addition to how to improve their images to value and care for the animal we are photographing, we teach their customs and local projects to help wildlife exist.

Top 5 achievements

  • Get local people to worry about the birds around them.
  • Generate a type of business around wildlife protection involving different local businesses.
  • Thanks to hides and food, the population of raptors in the area has grown
  • The feeding of the birds we photographed in the hides is controlled by the government and we have reduced the number of poisonings in this way.
  • We have brought many more people thanks to the power of a good photograph.

About Company

We are a company specialised in carrying out photographic expeditions in full nature.

As Nature Photographers, we have a duty to respect the natural environment, we use to work with wild animals and in places where the ecological balance is vulnerable to the human being. Therefore, it is necessary that we set an example with our attitudes, asking for the necessary permissions, being aware of the legal regulations imposed within the natural territories, and showing respect towards the integrity of the landscape and its heritage values (archaeological heritage, geological heritage, etc.) The conservation of the landscape must override the photographic practice.
