Ma’an is the arabic word for water. Water is very precious in Dubai where the climate can build to 50 degrees each day. Surrounding your body in the cool, blue ocean whilst gazing at sun stricken skyscrapers is so inviting, and just imagine the beauty of being able to spend a whole 24 hours in Ma’an, at the Atlantis the PALM HOTEL Dubai.
The blue, crystal clear water shone into the corridor. We were all eager to enter our room. Bags dropped, faces lit up as we gathered our way to the glass, on the other side a watery abyss.
Those who dreamed helped this come true. I laid in bed in air, as a turtle less than 1 metre away did the same in Ma’an. Separated by adaptation, together in presence.
The abyss was there in the night, smiling back through the nightmares and the dreams. I left the hotel to a boiling city full of reflected light. I wanted to dive into the Ma’an.
Being so close to the ocean really breaks down the barriers in the world.
